Sword-wealding Head of State

On an official visit to Bahrain, President Bush honored us with his presence and asked us "to lend a hand of peace" to Israel. Awwwwwhh, the poor threatened Israelis, who so badly need our help. They are so frightened from the God-awful naughty naughty Palestinians who keep tossing fire-crackers at their parties and ruining the party mood.

Sorry Mr. President. You've got it all wrong...
You hold the sword so well. You definitely know how to wage a war or two, or three...

Let me remind you that Palestinians have been in diaspora for 60 odd years. They have been stateless across the globe and live in tents in the Occupied Land while the Israelis continue to expand their settlements on stolen lands...

Dear Mr. President,

How would you feel if you had to live in a tent all your life, rummage thru the rubble of your home, watch strangers confiscate your property, and kill you son or daughter for suspecting them of supporting their freedom movements?
Wake up and smell the Palestinian +Iraqi blood spilling everywhere, or is it only OIL up your nostrils?

With the New Year just around the corner, I need to look back at what 2007 gave me and the world...

4. Didn't get a new phone yet, I wanted a Nokia N95, (I heard prices went down to BD 170???)(What happened???)
5. Iraq is still a burning war zone.
6. Gun-totting disturbed teenagers continue to massacre people in schools colleges.
7. Dubai continues to build taller buildings - aka Burj Dubai.
8. Tripoli, Lebanon sees clashes led by the brainfarts, so-called Ansar AlIslam
9. Discovered I have mild reumatism.
10. My best friend Nishani has a new baby boy - Ameer. Wish you both best of health.
11. My brother Hamood gets a new job after waiting for 4 years. Good Luck Aeuturnus!
12. Attended congress in Dubai. Jumeirah.
13. Israel continues to use Palestinians as target practice.
14.No solution for the Darfur problem yet.
15. Clashes in Bahrain during the National day holidays. 1 person killed.
16. No fireworks lit Bahrain's skies this year either.
17. Construction work continues on our house. First stage completed. Finishing in progress.
18. We still use loads of plastic bags. We need to be more environmentally aware.
19. Lost 3 kgs this year.

The Bumpy Road to Peace...

The region is on fire, to whose benefit is that? Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon? People are dying, children torn apart by bombs, death, hunger and disease, what's happening?
Is there any hope for the future, how long will this fighting continue?
While the Arab leaders work to attract as much investments into their countries and subsequent pockets, people in these sorry situations continue to die, and cry.

... We watch in silence ...

... Hopelessness ...

... Despair ...

...Insecurity...

...Crimes ...

... What a Sorry Arab Situation ...

Peace,

A Formula of Failure=Iraq

People in Iraq keep dying, and they are forgotten in the folds of memory, where they become part of history, and a black page in America's book. People dying in Iraq should not be forgotten, they should always serve as a reminder of the tyrannical decision by the honorable George W. to invade the country, in what was initially called "Operation Iraqi Liberty" or "OIL" for short.

If we try to make sense of what is happening in the Middle East today, if we try to make a logical sequence of events since the September 11th attack on New York's Twin Towers and a simple explanation of why Iraq was invaded, we would have the following formula:

9/11 Attack in New York + Allegedly by Osama Bin Laden (who has never been captured)+ invasion of Afghanistan (and its consequent destruction and the invasion goes on till this day) + a sudden jump from Afghanistan to Iraq + Claim of presence of Weapons of Mass Destruction and Saddam Hussein's involvement (someway or another) with Bin Laden + finally, the quagmire in Iraq that is a result of George W's idiotic decision = The result:

65,000 civilians killed in Iraq alone (and the list goes on and on) + political instability + threat of Iraq being divided + insecurity + car bombs + throat slitting + thousands of gangs posing as Islamic saviors + Anti-American sentiment all over the world + Civil War

But will George W. ever admit he was wrong? Will he ever admit that his decision to Invade Iraq was a dumb one and that he had ulterior motives a.k.a. O.I.L? I wonder.

I wonder how he would react if his house was blown to pieces and his kids drowning in a pool of their own blood and his body tortured to death and be sexually assaulted in Abu Ghraib? How would he react?

Scores killed in Baghdad university

How much longer do people have to die for the honorable US President to admit he was wrong and get the hell out of Iraq?

Because of the large amount of news and information we are bombarded with about wars, casualties, and explosions, we sometimes tend to fail to realize the extent of the tragedy carried by a news article. Read the one below (Courtesy of AlJazeera) and see the highlighted words, 65 people killed. Not one, or two, which is just as bad, but 65 people, people who were, mothers, sisters, daughters, and friends. There probably were fathers, brothers, cousins; in other words these people who were mass murdered yesterday were human beings. regardless of their religion, their affiliations, their tendencies, they were fellow human beings. To all of them and their families, may they all rest in peace. Furthermore, what is worse is that these thugs are targeting University students and professors, that is they are trying to start yet another brain drain in the country.
We will grieve for them in our hearts, and I will continue to write about all the victims of this tragedy, in the hope that one day, peace will prevail.
Love,

Scores killed in Baghdad University

The bombs were exploded as students and staff left the university [AFP]
Nuri al-Maliki, the Iraqi prime minister, has said "terrorists and Saddamists" were behind the bombing at al-Mustansiriya University.

At least 65 people were killed when a car and a suicide bomber exploded outside the University on Tuesday.
More than 100 people were injured in the blast, mostly students and staff leaving the university.
Al-Maliki said: "They [those responsible] carried out an ugly crime against humanity targeting the innocent students of Al-Mustansiriya University."
An official at the university said: "The majority of those killed [in the explosion] are
female students who were on their way home."
The university blast was the fourth bomb attack in Baghdad in the space of a day, following earlier attacks on police and near a Sunni mosque in the Iraqi capital.

In other violence, at least
45 people died in a series of attacks around the capital earlier on Tuesday. Suicide bomber at university gates
A police source said that the car bomb exploded near the main gate of the university in an area where students wait for minibuses and cars to pick them up to go home.
The suicide bomber then blew himself up near a second gate as people fled.

The university official said that classes had been cancelled for two days after the attack.
